FAQ COVID-19

Is it safe to visit Madurodam?

Yes, you can safely visit Madurodam. We do try to limit crowds in the park as much as possible. Together with our industry association Club van Elf and the Dutch Association of Zoos we have drawn up a protocol so that we can offer a safe day out to all of our visitors. We hope to welcome you again at Madurodam!

What measures are being taken at Madurodam?

Our "Out Together Safely" protocol provides three guarantees: we ensure a distance of 1.5 meters between households, sufficient and clear information and extra hygiene measures, both indoors and outdoors. One of the measures is that tickets can only be bought online and you must reserve a time of arrival. This way we can avoid crowds at the entrance and in the park.

We have also applied special markings in all interior and exterior spaces, in the form of orange and magenta coloured hearts. This way you know exactly how much distance you have to keep from other visitors. In addition, we have taken additional hygiene measures throughout the park, for example in the form of central disinfection points.

It is also advised to wear face masks in all indoor spaces.

 

How can I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation for a day and time of arrival via our website.

Are all attractions open?

Yes, Madurodam is fully operational. We do work with a maximum number of visitors for the attractions so that we can guarantee a safe visit for everyone. So it might be possible that the queues are slightly longer. 

Opening hours 3D Engine:

The 3D Engine in Zo Groot is open in Orange on weekends and holidays from 12:00 to 15:00. This varies on weekdays. Please contact us shortly before your visit to inquire.

Do I have to wear a face mask in Madurodam?

Madurodam follows the advice of the national government regarding the corona measures:

Until December 1, it is advisable to wear a mouth mask in our indoor areas such as the entrance hall, the attractions, our restaurants, toilets and the shop.
This advice applies to people from the age of 13. You don't have to wear a mouth mask outside.

From December 1, wearing a mouth mask in our indoor areas is mandatory for people aged 13 or older.

Our employees wear mouth masks in all interior areas or sit behind plexiglass mudguards.

Mouth masks are for sale at the cash register and in the Madurodam shop.

Can I buy a mouth mask in Madurodam?

Yes that is possible. We sell mouth masks at the checkout and in the Madurodam Shop. A mouth mask costs € 0.50 cents.

The park

Is there a map of the park available?

Yes, there is a digital map of the park available here.

You can also find the map in the Madurodam app, as well as detailed information about all our miniatures and attractions and interactive tours. Download it for free from Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for Apple).

Is it allowed to smoke in Madurodam?

From 1/1/2020 smoking is not allowed anywhere else except on a designated part of the Taste of Holland terrace next to the entrance to the toilets (if you stand with your back to the taste of Holland, the right side). Smoking is not allowed on the terrace of the Panorama Café and on the outer ring and on the park itself.

What are the minimum ages for visiting the attractions?

 

Are the restaurants in Madurodam open?

At the moment it is only possible to order and collect food at our special Snack Corner located in restaurant The Taste of Holland. You are very welcome to come by for a cup of coffee.

 

Madurodam subscription

Is my subscription still valid?

You are very welcome as a Madurodam subscriber! You only have to make a reservation in advance via our website for a date and time slot on which you want to visit. We do this to avoid crowds in the park and to offer our visitors 1.5 meters away from others. You must therefore always book your day of visit and arrival time in advance via our website. tickets.madurodam.nl/en/abonnee/tickets

Do I always have to make a reservation in advance?

Yes, that is one of the measures we are taking to avoid crowds. That is the government's instruction. It is therefore not possible to spontaneously visit Madurodam. You can make the reservation via our website: tickets.madurodam.nl/en/abonnee/tickets

As a subscriber, can I book multiple visits?

No, you can choose 1 day and 1 associated time of arrival per reservation.

Do I receive compensation for the weeks that Madurodam was closed?

Yes, we extend your subscription by the number of days that Madurodam was closed. This applies to all subscriptions sold from March 15, 2019.

What should I bring to Madurodam, is only my subscription pass sufficient?

When you visit, we scan both your subscription pass and your subscription ticket. This is proof of your reservation, which states the day of your visit and the timeslot. You have ordered the subscription ticket online. For an explanation, see the question "how can I make a reservation?".

How can I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation for a day and time of arrival via our website.

Can I use my Museum Card to get access to Madurodam?

No, unfortunately a Museum Card is not valid here.

How much does a companion of someone with a disability pay?

If someone with a disability is dependent on a companion, the companion will receive free access. Other family and group members will pay the normal entry price.

I already have a valid admission ticket (eg a ticket through a partner such as ANWB, Goede Doelenloterij or AD) and whether I have a discount coupon or (city) pass. Do I also have to make a reservation?

Yes, even if you already have a valid admission ticket, discount coupon or (city) pass, you must reserve a date and arrival time. You can make this reservation via our website.

I have a coupon, how do I get the discount if you can only buy tickets online?

Book a time of arrival on our website. You buy the ticket at the front office with the valid discount coupon. Note: without a coupon you will not get a discount. If you do not take the coupon with you, you will pay the full price. So always take your discount coupon / pass and your reservation of the time of arrival with you.

Online tickets

How can I change my online ticket to another day or time?

Have you bought a day ticket with a variable price (Day Ticket 2020)? Then rebooking is not possible. You can cancel the ticket up to 2 weeks after purchase and place a new order.

Do you have another ticket such as a family ticket or flex ticket? Then rebooking is possible. Please contact us for this and we are happy to help you! Rebooking is possible until 3 January 2021 at the latest.

How much does a day ticket for Madurodam cost?

Prices vary per day. Please check the current prices here.

How many people is a ticket valid for?

The ticket is valid for one person.

What does a flex ticket (without date) cost?

A flex ticket costs € 21.50. This ticket is more expensive than a day ticket because you can always rebook it to another day or time if you are unable or unable to come. This is not possible with a day ticket (with date). So you pay a little more for a little extra service!

How much does a family and friends ticket cost?

A family and friends ticket costs €66. This ticket is valid for one day and is only available online.

How many people is the family and friends ticket for?

For 4 persons. When you visit, all 4 tickets are scanned, even if you come with fewer people. It is not possible to use them again at a later time.

Do I need to print the online ticket in advance?

If it's up to us, please don't print your ticket. You can show the barcode on the online ticket on your smartphone or tablet at the counter.

My ticket is illegible, what should I do?

Your ticket is your proof of payment for entry to the park. The unique barcode will be checked electronically with a scanner at the entrance. This must be legible. So it’s important that your ticket is not ripped, crumpled or folded. You are responsible for ensuring your barcode is legible

How do I know for sure my ticket will be accepted at the entrance

The barcode on your ticket, printed or not, can be easliy scanned. We do it every day. Be aware that you can use your ticket only once. Once the barcode is scanned it cannot be used a second time. If you experience any issues at the park please ask an employee for help. They are always happy to be of assistance.ze receptie.

Will my money be refunded if I have not used my ticket?

If you have bought the ticket on our website you ca get a refund within 14 days from date of purchase. Beyond these 14 days we don't offer any refunds unfortunately. Your ticket(s) stays valid during the rest of the year so maybe there is another oppertunity to come and visit our park.

Parking

How many parking spaces are available at Madurodam?

At the Madurodam parking area there is room for appr. 450 cars.

At what time does the parking area close?

You are able to enter the parking area 1 hour prior to closing. You can leave the area not later than 1 hour after the park closes. View our opening hours here.

How much does parking at Maduroam cost?

Parking at Madurodam costs € 10. You can park your car during opening hours.

School trips, groups and corporate events

Can I cancel or move my school trip?

Yes, that's possible. We can change your reservation to another date free of charge and on the same conditions. We are happy to help you with this. Mail us at info@madurodam.nl.

Can I organize a children's party?

You can book a children's party with us if there are still enough available places and the composition of the group complies with the legal regulations. Please contact Guest & Park service.

Can I visit Madurodam with a group?

Yes that is possible, you can make a reservation via www.madurodam.nl/nl/reserveren/groups

How big can my group be to visit Madurodam?

You can book up to 10 tickets at a time. You may come as an individual, couple or as a family, provided that these persons belong to the same household.

I want to organize a family day with a visit to Madurodam, is this possible?

Yes that is possible, you can make a reservation via www.madurodam.nl/nl/reserveren/groepen

3D figures

How can I create a 3D figure of myself?

You can do this at Zo Groot Is Oranje. In the dressing room of the Dutch lions, you can make a 3D-scan of yourself in a few seconds. You will then receive an email with this 3-selfie and a link to the webshop, where you can order a 3D figure of yourself.

Can adults make a 3D scan too?

Of course, the scanner can scan up to 2 metres. The operators at the Fantasitron will help you make a good copy.

How much does a 3D figure cost?

This depends on the scale size and the amount of people (max. 2). A 3D-avatar in Madurodam-style (1:25) costs € 39,- for a single and € 69,- for a double. The complete pricelist will be shown during the orderprocess.

What is the delivery cost for the 3D figures?

The delivery cost within the Netherlands around € 6.

Is there a logo on the 3D figure?

The Madurodam logo can be found on the bottom as a lasting memory. This is not noticeable.

What should I do if I have not received an email after making a scan in the 3D engine?

First check your spam and/or junk folder. If you have still not received an email after 24 hours, email your details to info@madurodam.nl. We will contact you.

Can I collect my 3D figure at Madurodam?

No, unfortunately this is not possible. The 3D figures are printed at another location.

Is there somewhere I can see what a 3D figure looks like?

You can find all possible figures and products that can be printed in the webshop. Photos and prices are also available here. You will receive a link to the webshop after creating the 3D scan.
